Pendulum wholesale
If you want to do some pendulum work for yourself, then almost all pendulums for sale at Phoenix Import are fine.
If you want to dowse for others, it becomes more important to choose a professional pendulum. The characteristics of a professional pendulum are somewhat different from those of a pendulum for personal use.
The professional pendulum
The pendulum should have a flexible cotton black cord and not a chain; as the cord should have as little mass as possible. Pendulums usually come with chains - as most pendulums have a screw head, you can easily replace the chain for a cotton cord yourself. Unscrew the head of the pendulum, put the cord through the hole and put several knots in the cord, so many that it stays in place. Screw the head onto the pendulum and tie the cord around the bead at a distance of about 13cm from the pendulum head. For a pendulum with a fixed ring: remove the chain and tie the cord to the eye of the pendulum.
As little air resistance as possible should be created, therefore avoid chains or decorations on the pendulum that increase air resistance. Brass pendulums are excellent and have a good balance, are usually conical in shape, some have a spiral shape all around to capture more energy. But mineral - and wooden pendulums are also fine to use. The weight does not matter much, the choice is up to the practitoner and in the open air a heavier pendulum is definitely used.
Pendulums for various purposes
Some dowsers have many different pendulums and keep certain pendulums for specific purposes. For example, they may have one for decision making, one for finding lost objects and a completely different one for spiritual or divinatory insights. Sometimes they are also used in conjunction with a pendulum board or pendulum mat.
Cleansing a pendulum
Energetically cleanse your pendulums after purchasing them and after each dowsing session.
Hold the pendulums over a singing bowl, with the sound vibration of the bowl cleansing the pendulums, or cleanse your pendulums by placing them on a piece of rock crystal overnight.
Your pendulums are now energetically cleansed and ready for use. Store your pendulums each in a pendulum bag.
Using the pendulum
To start off, make sure you have a quiet environment. Don't let any intrusive thoughts affect your pendulum result, so clear your head before you start and accept the result.
To start working with pendulums, you need to learn the "yes", "no", "I don't know" and "answer not available" options. You can explore or programme your pendulum for these answers. An easiest way is to simply ask the pendulum. The first step is to hold your pendulum in one hand, completely still. Use the other hand to stop the movement if necessary. Then ask your pendulum, "Show me yes" and see what movement it makes.
The most common movements are:
A straight line moving back and forth, from left to right.
A straight line moving away from your body and then back to your body.
A circle moving clockwise.
A circle moving counter-clockwise.
No movement at all.
The pendulum may move immediately or it may take a few minutes - or even a few tries. Each movement may seem very slow or insignificant at first, but will become more pronounced as you wait. Once you have established what 'yes' looks like for your pendulum, bring it to a stop again.
For more training, we recommend buying a pendulum book and practising a lot.
The magic of the pendulum
There are a plethora of theories and speculations about how pendulums work. Some people claim that pendulums touch the subconscious in all of us, which in turn is connected to the Divine.
Pendulums elicit their answers by going directly through the subconscious, while other oracles are more of a mix of a direct path to messages from the Universe and the subconscious. This method is no better or worse than the other oracles, but it does offer an opportunity for self-insight that can be very interesting and useful. Working with a pendulum just feels different from working with other divinatory tools.
Pendulums go way back in human history. There is evidence of the use of pendulums in ancient China, the Egypt of the pharaohs and the ancient Roman Empire. They were also used in many different cultures, including Greek, Hindu and Hebrew culture - and many more.
Curiously, many of the most famous proponents of dowsing were Catholic priests, abbots and bishops. Stories about leaders of the Catholic church who researched and used dowsing rods date back to the 17th century.
