Mani Bhadra BV - Phoenix Import donates a part of its profits to international humanitarian, educational and cultural charity projects. The name Mani Bhadra comes from Sanskrit and means "sharing prosperity and abundance with people in need."
Sponsorship from customers and Phoenix Import Together with its customers, Mani Bhadra BV - Phoenix Import sponsors a generous amount every year. Every sponsored amount by customers is doubled by us! With these donations, many projects can be supported, such as care for the elderly, schooling for children, planting trees and construction of drinking water facilities. In addition, there is also a generous annual donation budget to support/achieve larger projects. Project 1: Help in Action Help in Action is a volunteer-run non-profit organisation founded by T.Y.S. Lama Gangchen in 1992, who has lived in the West for many years and has worked tirelessly to promote a positive mutual exchange of knowledge, knowhow and humanitarian assistance between East and West. Help in Action supports people in the Himalayan region, particularly in India and Nepal, through humanitarian projects supporting children, the elderly, sick, disabled and monks. It also provides immediate assistance in the event of emergencies such as natural disasters. Read more about Help in Action.
Project 2: Food for the Poor Nepal Set up by Jan de Ruiter, CEO of Mani Bhadra BV - Phoenix Import, the Food for the Poor project distributes freshly made meals to the poorest of the poor living on the streets of Kathmandu. Currently, a full nutritious meal costs €1,50 a day, including distribution costs. Believe it, people are so grateful! For people living in very poverty-stricken conditions on the streets of Kathmandu, receiving a hot meal not only ensures their survival, but also offers them some hope that they will be cared for and supported. The number of meals we can give depends on the donations we receive. No matter how much you can donate, it will make a difference. To ensure that this help reaches everyone who needs it, local volunteers choose a different location in the city of Kathmandu every day from where meals are distributed. Nepal remains one of the poorest countries in the world. Although food security has improved in recent years, an estimated 4.6 million people are without enough food. According to the World Food Programme, 36% of children under five suffer from growth retardation, 27% are underweight and 10% suffer from emaciation due to malnutrition. There are an estimated 250,000 homeless people and another 2.8 million people, including many children, live in slums. Read more about Food for the Poor Nepal.
